PROBLEMS
WARNING
These interventions are to be carried
out by specialised technicians
The compressor does not work
Possible reasons:
O
the compressor is not connected to the
electric installation;
O
the voltage does not correspond to that
written on the label;
O
the temperature protection device of
the compressor has been released;
O
the compressor is in pressure;
O
the air pressure switch is damaged;
O
if working with models having a star-
triangle starting device, the coil might
lack voltage or the contactor coil itself
might be disconnected.
Solutions:
O
make sure the compressor is connected
to the electric installation;
O
readjust the motor temperature
(fig. 4-5); the intervention of a specialised
technician is required;
O
empty the tank;
O
make sure the air pressure switch works
properly;
O
check, whether the fuse is integral and
whether the transformer and the coil
work properly; in case of malfunctions,
contact a technician.
The compressor is difficult
to put into operation
and sometimes the temperature
protection device is released
Possible reasons:
O
the voltage in the motor clamps is too
low;
O
the temperature protection device needs
proper setting;

O
there are problems with the resistance
of the pumping system;
Solutions:
O
check the line voltage (it may differ by
max. 6% from the ideal value);
O
if working with a three-phase motor,
measure the absorption of the single
phases;
O
replace the temperature protection
device if it is damaged;
O
remove the belt and make sure that the
pump and the motor work properly and
that the oil level is correct.

Opening of the safety valve
Possible reasons:
O
incorrect adjustment of the air pressure
switch;
O
incorrect adjustment of the valve.
Solutions:
O
readjust the air pressure switch;
O
replace the valve with another type-
approved valve, as the valves are sealed
devices responsible for the safe operation
of the compressor and are therefore
subject to the testing of the Official Contrl
Body.
Little or no capacity;
pressure does not rise
Possible reasons:
O
the suction filter is obstructed;
O
the belts are loose or worn out;
O
there is an air leakage in the pipe fittings;
O
the pumpung unit does not work properly;
O
the check valve is obstructed.
