FOR THE COMMISSIONING OF THE FIXED OR AUTOMATIC
Operations to be performed for correct commissioning of ICAR units are described below.
1. CONNECTION TO THE MAINS
Connect the three mains phases to the terminals marked 1-2-3 or R-S-T (L1-L2-L3). Pay special attention to the dimensioning of the power supply
line to the power factor correction system and any operating and/or protective devices as they should be rated to withstand a current equal to 1.5
times the rated current of the capacitor bank.
2. CONNECTION OF THE EARTH WIRE
Connect the earth (ground) lead to relative connection provided on the unit. Size of the earth conductor should be equal at least to 60% of the phase
conductor (e.g.: phase conductor, size 120mm
After the above described operations, proceed to switch on the unit. Commissioning is now finished as regards non automatic units.
The next operations should only be carried out on automatic power correction units.
Please note that all controller parameters are set at the factory with the exception of the value of CT primary. To change other values refer to the
manual of the reactive power regulator attached to the equipment (also available from the download site ww.icar.com) or contact the Technical
Service ICAR.
3. PRESETTING OF THE REACTIVE POWER REGULATOR
Regulator RPC 5LSA-7LSA-8BSA-12BSA: at relay start, relevant display will show a flashing "CT" notice. "+" button and dial Current Transformer
primary current.
Regulator RPA 8BMA-12BMA: see regulator RPC.
Regulator RPE 12BTA: see regulator RPC.
Regulator RPC 5LGA: at relay start, relevant display will show a flashing "CT" notice.
