Proper use
HEWI panic bar for doors with panic device according
to DIN EN 1125.
Panic devices enable safe escape through doors with
little effort, without requiring prior knowledge on how
to operate the panic device. Panic devices are used in
public buildings and places used by the public.
A horizontally attached bar enables the door to be easily
opened even in the dark or smoke.
Mounting information
The safety characteristics of this product are essential
for compliance with DIN EN 1125. With the exception of
the changes described in these instructions, no other
modifications whatsoever may be made.
A panic device according to DIN EN 1125 is made up of:
A Panic bar
B Lock system; depending on the application, consis-
ting of:
Lock, locking bars, locking plate, lock recesses, etc.
These installation instructions solely refer to the moun-
ting of the panic bar listed under A.
The separate installation instructions for the lock system
according to B must be carefully read and followed.
The doors must be in a technically perfect condition
when the devices are fitted and the doors must be che-
cked to ensure easy movement.
When mounting the devices on fire doors and smoke
control doors the relevant standards and the door ma-
nufacturer's instructions must be read and followed.
