Part 3 - Installation Instructions
Connect the included Pressure Relief Device (PRD) to the unit (Figure 2).
NOTE: IMPORTANT - Do not skip this step. A PRD must be installed with this water heater.
A. Wall Mounting the Water Heater
•
Slide away the bottom cover and remove the knob by hand. Remove the two (2) screws attaching the
water heater front cover. Remove the front cover. (Figure 3.)
•
Pass wires through knockout hole in back of unit (Right/Left back). See Figures 4 and 5.
•
The mounting surface must be solid and secure. Do not install the unit above electrical boxes or junctions.
•
Position the unit on the mounting surface. Ensure the unit is level. Mount the unit to the wall with four (4)
screws of at least one (1) inch in length at the marked points. See Figure 5.
Use screws suitable for the wall material and the weight of the water heater. Failure to do so could result in
property damages and damage to the water heater. Such damages ARE NOT covered by product warranty.
•
The appliance must be mounted horizontally, with water inlets and outlets at the bottom. See Figures 7 - 8.
This water heater must be installed upright in the vertical position as described in this manual. DO NOT attempt
to install this water heater in any other orientation. Doing so will result in improper water heater operation and
property damage, and could result in serious personal injury or death.
•
Pull gently on the water heater to ensure that it is properly mounted.
