Removing and Installing the Filter
Note: The Filter should only be removed or installed when the Kettle is cold and
before it is filled with water.
To remove the filter, slide your thumb down the spout and push on the Filter.
To install the filter:
1. Remove the Lid.
2. Hold the Filter in one hand and place the filter through the lid opening,
so that the small tabs are pointing into the spout.
3. Look down the spout so that you can see when the 3 tabs are placed in
the opening.
4. Push the Filter until you hear it snap into position.
Descaling
Under normal use, a deposit of scale may form on the inside of the Kettle.
This scale build-up can be delayed by pouring out old water and refilling before
each use.
If descalling is required, follow the directions below:
1. Unplug Power Cord from wall outlet and allow Kettle to cool completely.
2. Remove the Filter by inserting your thumb into the spout and pressing
on the lower portion of the Filter. This will disengage the Filter from the
small tab and the Filter will fall into the Kettle. Wash the Filter under
running water.
3. Scale which has accumulated inside the Kettle can be removed by boiling
equal parts of white vinegar and water (2 cups of each is recommended).
Once the water has boiled, allow mixture to stand overnight. Empty out
mixture and fill Kettle to the MAX level with fresh water. Bring water to
a boil and discard. For heavy scale build-up, repeat this process.
