Intended use
This barcode scanner is designed to scan conventional barcodes (e.g. UPC or EAN). The
built-in rechargeable battery provides enough power for approximately 10,000 barcode scans.
The barcode scanner has a wireless range of 100 m, making it ideal for on-the-go use in
shops, warehouses or offices. Data is transmitted via Bluetooth Class 1. The scanner has a
1 MB internal memory, which can store up to 65,000 EAN 13 barcodes and transfer them to
Bluetooth-capable mobile devices.
This product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture
(e.g. in bathrooms) must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. Using the
product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product. In addition,
improper use can cause hazards such as a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Read the
instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Only make this product available to third
parties together with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions

manual, we will assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or damage
to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General information
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly, as it may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent
unauthorized use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in adverse ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Always handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
may damage the product.
• Always observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which
are connected to the product.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be done by a technician or a
specialist repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
• Warning, LED light:
- Do not look directly at the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
b) Rechargeable battery
• The rechargeable battery is built into the product and cannot be replaced.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of a rechargeable
battery may cause it to explode or catch fire!
• Never short-circuit the contacts on the rechargeable battery. Do not throw the
battery or the product into open flames. This may cause a fire or explosion!
• Charge the battery regularly, even when you are not using the product. You do not
need to discharge the battery before recharging it.
• Never leave the battery unattended when it is charging.
• Place the product on a heat-resistant surface before charging the battery. The
product may become warm when the battery is charging.

Charging the barcode scanner
Charge the battery before using the product for the first time.
When there is insufficient battery power remaining, the LED indicator (2) flashes orange and
you will hear a beep. Charge the battery straight away when this occurs. If the product has
turned itself off, fully charge the battery before turning it back on with the trigger (4).
If the battery becomes fully discharged, the system time will be reset to the factory
default. If this occurs, you will need to reset the time after recharging the battery (see
"Summary of settings" in "c) Setting the date format, date and time").
Follow the steps below to charge the battery:
• Pull the cap out of the mini USB port (8).
• Insert the mini USB plug on the USB cable into the mini USB port on the scanner.
• Connect the USB-A connector on the mini USB cable to a USB port on a computer or another
suitable USB power source, such as a USB power adapter for a mobile device.
• The battery level indicator (2) will flash to indicate that the internal battery is charging.
Depending on the remaining battery level, a full charge takes 4–5 hours.
If you pressed the power saving button (3) before charging the battery (i.e. the
device is in power saving mode), the LED indicator will not turn on when the battery
is charging.
• The LED indicator will turn orange when the battery is fully charged.
• Remove the product from the USB power source when the LED indicates that the battery is
fully charged. The device is now fully charged and ready for use.
• Insert the cap back into the mini USB port and ensure that the port is sealed properly.
The barcode scanner does not automatically enter power saving mode when the
battery is charging.
Setup
a) Turning the scanner on and off
• Press the trigger (4) to wake the scanner from power saving mode.
• If the scanner is in deep sleep mode, press and hold the trigger (4) for approximately
8 seconds to turn it back on. You will hear two short beeps and the LED indicator (2) will flash
briefly. The LED indicator will stay constant when the scanner is not connected to a mobile
device. For more information, refer to the "Pairing the barcode scanner with your mobile
device via Bluetooth".
• The barcode scanner will beep and automatically switch to power saving mode if no buttons
are pressed for a preset duration.
• After you have finished scanning, press and hold the right button (3) for 2–3 seconds to place
the barcode scanner in power saving mode. You will hear a short beep when the scanner
turns off.
