How can I avoid discoloration
or burning of the sample?
How can I avoid burrs?
How can I avoid the cut-off
wheels wearing too quickly?
How can I achieve faster
cutting?

Answer
Apply a lower cutting force
Change the cut-off wheel as the
hardness of the present cut-off wheel
may be inappropriate for the hardness of
the workpiece*)
Use a softer cut-off wheel*)
Where a quick-clamping device
(optional) and spring clamp (optional) are
mounted:
Clamp the workpiece securely using the
quick-clamping device.
Position the spring clamp to provide a
force just sufficient to prevent the cut-off
piece from shifting at the end of the
cutting action.
Apply a lower cutting force or use a
harder cut-off wheel*)
Position the workpiece so as to cut the
smallest possible cross-section. Apply a
higher cutting force.
