Adjusting the Cutting Handle

Connection to an External
Exhaust System
Labotom-3
Instruction Manual
The cutting handle is factory-mounted in a position which will suit
most people when Labotom-3 is placed on a table 800 mm high.
However it is possible to change the position of the cutting handle:
Loosen the 2 screws. Take care not to displace the cutting motor
axially.
Turn the handle to the desired position.
Tighten the screws.
Check that the cut-off wheel will pass through the middle of the
slot in the cutting table.
Struers recommends the use of an exhaust system as workpieces
may emit harmful gasses when cut.
A passage for exhaustion is located on the left hand side of
Labotom-3. An optional fume extractor kit enables the connection of
a 50mm dia. exhaust hose.
Remove the cover and seal.
Mount the connecting branch  outside the protection guard
using the seal  and the long screws supplied with the fume
extractor kit.
Assemble the spacers , splash guard  and cover  inside
the protection guard. Secure with the short screws originally
used for mounting the cover. Make sure that the splash guard
lies directly under the cover.
Strip the steel spring from approx. 2 cm of the exhaust hose and
cut. Bend the cut end towards the centre of the hose. Mount the
exhaust hose onto the connecting branch  and clamp the
stripped section using a hose clamp.
Connect the exhaust hose to your local exhaust system.
