17. Check the power cord regularly for damage. If the power cord is damaged in any
way, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre in
order to avoid an electrical hazard.
18. Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp edges or to come into contact
with hot surfaces.
19. Make sure that the Kettle is switched OFF and remove the plug from the mains
electrical supply before it is cleaned and when it is being repaired.
20. WARNING: To prevent the risk of electrical shock, never immerse the Kettle,
power cord, plug or any non-removable parts of this Kettle in water or any other
liquid.
21. When filling with water or when cleaning the Kettle, be sure not to wet the
bottom of the kettle or the base. Before putting the Kettle on the base, wipe away
any residual water with a dry cloth and check that the base, bottom of the kettle
and cord are all completely dry before reconnecting so as to avoid an electric
shock or short-out.
22. Do not use the Kettle with damp or wet hands.
23. To unplug the appliance, grasp the plug firmly and remove it from the mains
electrical supply. DO NOT PULL ON THE CORD.
24. Do not exceed the maximum water level mark as this may cause boiling water to
be ejected and cause danger from scalding.
25. To avoid burns, ensure that the kettle lid has been properly closed before using.
26. When the Kettle is in operation, do not open the kettle lid or move the kettle.
27. Do not switch on the kettle if it has no water in it as this will damage the kettle.
28. Make sure to turn the power switch off before removing the Kettle from the base.
29. Never use the appliance near or on hot surfaces.
30. Never use this appliance near a bathtub, shower or basin or in a damp or humid
area.
31. Make sure that the Kettle never comes into contact with flammable materials,
such as curtains, cloths etc and that the power cord and plug do not come into
contact with hot parts of this unit.
32. Never use the Kettle if it is damaged in any way.
33. NEVER attempt to repair the Kettle yourself. All repairs must be carried out by an
authorised service centre. Improper repairs may place the user at risk.
