Outdoor stand light "Ploumeur", 80 cm
Intended Use
The light is intended for the use in outdoor (protection type IP54) areas e.g. entrance
areas, terraces, etc, where it provides energy-effi cient lighting.
Only low-energy light bulbs up to max. 23 W (E27 socket) can be used and operated
in outdoor stand lights.
Any other use than as described above can damage the product. Moreover, this may
give rise to hazards such as short-circuiting, fi re, electric shock, etc. No part of the
product may be modifi ed or rebuilt!
The safety instructions must be observed at all times!

Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product
as it contains important information about the correct installation and
operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions! Liability for any and all consequential
damage is excluded!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The
warranty will be void in such cases!
Attention!
The product may only be installed by a qualifi ed technician (e.g. electri-
cian) who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German
electrical wiring regulations)!
Improper work carried out at the mains voltage endangers not only your
life but also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not in-
stall it yourself but entrust a qualifi ed electrician.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not al-
lowed for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There
is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
• The product may only be operated on the mains voltage (see section "Techni-
cal Data"). Never try to operate the product at another voltage as this will
cause its destruction.

• The product is constructed to protection class I; the earth cable must be
connected.
If there is not a mains supply with a protective earth wire available at the
place of installation, the product must not be connected/used there. In this
case, lay a new supply with a protective earth wire.
• Only an low-energy light bulb with E27 socket and max. 23 W output should
be installed and operated in the outdoor stand light. Using a bulb with a
higher wattage will lead to overheating, which will give rise to the risk of fi re!
• The product is splash proof (IP54) and designed for use outdoors.
• The light must not be used in areas subjected to fl ooding. The same applies
for areas (e.g. low ground), in which rainwater can collect.
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions
where combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present!
• The product is only suitable for stationary installation.
• To avoid eye injury, do not look at the light source or point the light at per-
sons or animals.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Em-
ployer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating
Materials are to be observed.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, dis-
connect the light immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. It
can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the light is visibly damaged (e.g. broken safety-glass, damaged housing)
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of
time
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.

Preparations for Installation
Note:
The product may only be installed by a qualifi ed technician (e.g. electri-
cian) who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German
electrical wiring regulations)!
• The product is suitable for use in unprotected outdoor areas. However, do not use
the product in or under water, there is a danger of a fatal electric shock!
Protect the Light from salt water (e.g. de-icing salt in the winter) since it may lead to
corrosion.
• Make sure you install the light on a horizontal solid base (e.g. a concrete fl oor).
• Use a suitable mains cable for the connection, which is permanently installed. The
light is only intended for stationary installation.
• The light must be protected on the distribution board, provided by the user, by a
10/16A fuse. An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this (FI protec-
tive switch).
• The light must be voltage-free during installation. It is not suffi cient to just turn off
at the light switch!
Turn the power off and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off the circuit breaker.
Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign. Furthermore, turn
off the earth leakage circuit breaker in order to disconnect the light from all the poles
of the mains supply.
• Check that the mains connection is current free with a suitable tester.
