Never press the locking button on the handpiece while the instrument is
in use or has not quite stopped. Doing so can cause the bur to become
loose of cause the locking system to overheat and break.

AVOID CONTACT between the patient's cheek and the locking button
during use. This could lead to the bur being accidentally released,
resulting in burns or lesions to the patient.
WArNING!
Never operate the handpiece without a bur in the spindle. This could
cause the handpiece to overheat, causing damage or burns. Never
exceed the maximum speed specified by the bur manufacturer. Keep
bur shafts clean at all times; dirty shafts can cause dirt to enter the
spindle, leading to the bur slipping during rotation, or even preventing
the bur from fitting in the spindle correctly. Never attempt to fit an
