Pre-heat the table-top barbecue for approx. 10 minutes before using it.
Before placing food on the grill bars [7], it is recommended that you apply a little vegetable oil.
This prevents food sticking to the grill bars [7].
Place the foodstuff directly on the grill bars [7]. Never use any aluminium foil, a plate or
similar objects. Turn over the foodstuff from time to time.
Risk of Burning Injury! When switched on, the grill bars [7] become very hot! You should
therefore use oven mitts to adjust the grill bars [7] height.
The grill bars [7] height is adjustable. To adjust, insert the grill bars [7] into the upper grill bars
fixation [4] or the lower grill bars fixation [5]. Use the low position to barbecue your food at
the highest temperature. The high position can be used to cook slowly or to keep food warm.
When grilling for a longer time, check the water level regularly. If the water level is below the
"MIN" marking, switch the table-top barbecue off and fill water into the fat collector [6] up to
the "MAX" marking. Do not spill any water on the heating element [1]!
After you have finished your grilling session, place the On/Off switch [3] to position "0" to
power the table-top barbecue off and disconnect the mains plug.
Clean the table-top barbecue as described in the "Cleaning" chapter.

Tips for obtaining good barbecue results

Tender meat is better suited to barbecuing and is also more tender after cooking.
Always use barbecue tongs to turn food on the barbecue, never use a fork. This keeps your
food juicy on the inside.
Avoid turning the food too often, as this could dry it out.
Use thin pieces of food to reduce cooking times.
To achieve even cooking results, change the position of the food on the grill rack during
cooking. Because of the heating element [1], the best cooking position is in the centre of the
grill bars [7].
Please note the following barbecue time guidelines:
Burgers/Meatballs should be about 2 to 2.5 cm thick. Barbecue the burgers for approx. 12 to
15 minutes on either side on the low grill bar setting.
Turkey escalopes need about 8 minutes cooking time on each side on the low grill bar setting.
They only need to be turned once.
Beef steaks up to a thickness of 3 cm should be barbecued for 8 to 10 minutes on each site on
the low grill setting, depending on the thickness of the meat and your preferences. They only
need to be turned once.
The times quoted are just starting points. Cooking times can be longer or shorter depending on the
nature of the food and your personal preferences.
