6. TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM
Forks do not raise
to full height
Forks do not raise
Forks do not descend
Leaks
Forks descend when control
lever in DRIVE position
Only trained and authorized personnel should attempt to repair pallet trucks.
CAUSE
Not enough hydraulic oil
Not enough oil
Impurities in oil
Air in oil
Nut (104) is too high or
screw (134) is too close,
keeping valve open
Piston rod (153) or pump body
deformed due to over-loading or
slant loading
Forks stored in raised position,
exposing piston and resulting in
rust
Adjusting nut or screw
not in correct position
Worn or damaged seals
Cracked or broken parts
Impurities in oil preventing
valve from closing
Cracks in parts of
hydraulic system
Air in oil
Adjusting nut or screw
not in correct position
SOLUTION
Fill to capacity with hydraulic
jack oil
Fill to capacity
Change oil
Bleed air
Adjust nut or screw per item 3.4
Replace damaged parts
Lubricate rod. Store in lowered
position
Adjust nut or screw per item 3.3
Replace seals
Replace parts
Change oil
Inspect and replace
