SETTING UP THE LUBE-A-MATIC® (LAM) HEATER
1.
Mount the heater using either of two options :
a) directly to your bench in a convenient location, using 1/4" flathead
bolts or wood screws (Fig. 1, A) OR
b) to your bench using the RCBS Accessory Base Plate-3 (Fig. 1, B) (*not
included, see Fig. 3, pg. 7)
2.
Attach the lube/sizer to the heater using the supplied hardware. Refer to Fig.
4 (pg. 7) for the bolt hole locations for various lube/sizers.
3.
Install proper lube, sizing die and top punch.
4.
Plug the heater into a grounded outlet (110-125 volts/60 Hz) and allow 10-20
minutes of warm-up time before use. The temperature dial should be at the
lowest setting that allows your preferred lube to begin to flow freely without
liquefying and leaking. You will need to find this ideal setting by trial and
error if the lube does not specify a recommended usage temperature. See
Fig. 2 (pg. 6) for temperature dial details.
5.
Size and lubricate bullets.
NOTE: To avoid leakage if soft lubes are used, set the temperature dial only high
enough for the lube to begin to flow freely, then return the dial to a lower setting
or turn it off. The LAM Heater should be used to heat soft lubes, inside your bullet
sizer, to the manufacturer's recommended operating range.
6.
Unplug heater when finished.
