baskets during the cooking process because
hot steam will escape;
- be aware that hot steam also escapes from
the vents in the steamer lids. Never cover
these openings, otherwise steam might build
up in the appliance and escape violently
when it is opened:
- When you do need to lift the lid of a steamer
basket, first raise it slightly at the back, so
that the escaping rush of steam is directed
away from you.
