Operation
➤ Turn the cooling capacity control (fig. 1 2, page 3) to the required posi-
tion.
➤ Push the switch (fig. 3 1, page 3) to HOT or COLD to switch the cooler
on.
✓ The cooler starts cooling or heating the interior.
➤ To switch off the cooler,
– slide the switch to the OFF position,
– disconnect the plug.
6.3 Using the voltage monitor
The M50U voltage monitor protects your vehicle battery against excessive
discharging when the device is connected to the on-board DC power supply.
➤ If you want to use this protection, connect the cooler with the voltage
monitor to the on-board DC power supply.
✓ The red LED on the voltage monitor displays the status:
Operating display Operating mode
LED glows
LED flashes
6.4 Changing the lid
As an alternative to the unit lid, you can use an insulating lid when transport-
ing the cooler.

NOTE
Please remember: the lid is only suitable for keeping cool and not
for active cooling.
➤ Fold the handle of the cooler forwards.
➤ Open the lid until it is vertical and then remove it by lifting it upwards.
➤ Place the insulating lid with the guide lugs into the slots on the cooler.

The cut-in voltage (12.8 V) is available and the cooler is in
operation.
The cut-off voltage (11.6 V) has been reached and the
voltage monitor has switched off the cooler.
Once the battery voltage reaches over 12.8 V, the voltage
monitor switches on the cooler again.
