Problem
Cake does not rise enough.

Dark crust colour/crust too thick.

Possible cause
Eggs were not mixed to viscous material.
Sugar omitted or not enough added.
Wrong type of cake flour used.
Eggs were not mixed even enough.
Required standard recipe was not used.
Not correct amounts of sugar, salt, flour and/
or liquid.
Too much liquid.
Eggs were not mixed even enough.
Not enough liquid.
Too much cake flour.
Tops of loaves may not all be perfectly shaped –
no effect on flavour.
Machine was placed in a draught or may have
been knocked or jolted during rising.
Exceeding capacity of cake pan.

Possible cause
Cake was not removed immediately after baking.
Bread maker malfunctioning.
Cake was not baked long enough.
Possible cause
Kneader is stuck due to dried dough remains.
The blade was stuck in the cake.

Base for cake pan and bottom base coupling
may be deformed or some foreign body inside.
Solution
Use egg breaking machine to mix eggs.
Mix the ingredients as listed in recipe.
Do not use all-purpose cake flour.
Use egg breaking machine to mix eggs.
Apply standard recipe.
Check recipe ingredients.
Reduce liquid amount.
Use egg breaking machine to mix eggs.
Add more milk or water.
Reduce cake flour.
Make sure cake is made under the best
possible conditions.
Reposition cake.
Do not use more ingredients than
recommended.
Use amount of salt recommended in recipe.
Measure the cake flour accurately.
Reduce liquid amount.
Solution
Remove immediately after baking.

Extend baking time.
Solution
Add water to bread pan and allow kneader
to soak. Then you may need to twist kneader
slightly to remove it (see cleaning section).
Wear gloves and rotate the fork by hand to
separate blade from cake.
Not enough cake oil.
Carefully rotate cake pan in left and right
direction to loosen it.
