Notes on documentation
This installation and short user's guide is intended for experienced trained specialists and contains only

the most important information concerning the assembly, installation and function of the CMC III CAN-
Bus Unit (subsequently called CAN bus unit).

Safety instructions
– Assembly and installation of the device may only be performed by experienced trained specialists.
– Any required mains power connection or a mains power wiring as part of the CAN bus unit wiring may
only be performed by an experienced electrician.
– The CAN bus unit housing must not be opened.
– The CAN bus unit may not come in contact with water, aggressive or inflammable gases and vapours.
– The CAN bus unit may only be operated within the specified environmental conditions (see
Section 3.4).

Product description
3.1
Functional description
The CAN bus unit is compatible with the CMC-TC units, which like the CMC-TC system can be con-
nected to the CMC III system. Two channels can be used to connect these units. The CAN bus unit
initialises itself automatically after connection to the CAN bus system.
3.2
Proper use
The CAN bus unit is used exclusively for the connection of CMC-TC units to the CMC III system. Any
other use is not permitted.
