Heating mode
Zehnder Zenia is a multifunctional bathroom heater. We assume that the Zenia heater will
be used in conjunction with a room heating system (e.g. underfloor heating) which covers
the basic heat requirements, regulates the room temperature and provides frost
protection. The heated front face and boost function of the Zenia heater can provide
additional comfort with their radiant heat and rapid response times.
Boost heater:
The boost heater in the Zenia heater may only be used for short-term room heating
and is not intended for use as a permanent heating system.
Under certain circumstances (heat requirement for the room is less than 225 W), the
Zenia heater can also function as a radiator (on its own) in the room. It compares the
temperature of the room with the target temperature and, if necessary, switches on the
heated front face in order to reach the target temperature, at which point it switches it off
again.
The Zenia heater must be switched to heating mode via the Zehnder Connect app for this
purpose.
Risk of frost damage
If the heat requirement for the room is greater than 225 W, the Zenia heater can
no longer ensure that the desired room temperature is maintained using the
heated front face. If the heat requirement for the room is significantly more than
225 W, there could even be a risk of frost damage (e.g. water pipes in the
bathroom).
Factory setting – heating mode
Operation in heating mode is deactivated in the factory setting.
The "at home" target room temperature is set to 24°C.
The "away" target room temperature is set to 20°C.
Both temperatures only appear when heating mode is activated and can be
adjusted via the Zehnder Connect app.
Window ventilation detection
If the Zenia heater is in heating mode, the heating system is switched off if the
temperature in the room drops rapidly because a window or door to a cold room is
opened. In this case, the Zenia heated front face stops providing heat. If the system
detects that the window or door has been closed, the Zenia heated front face starts
providing heat again.
Automatic operation: daily and weekly programmes
Individual daily programmes can be defined via the Zehnder Connect app. The daily
programmes can then be used to create weekly programmes. This allows the user to set
a start time and duration for all Zenia functions.
