Installing the video splitter
6.1
Tools required
For installation and assembly, you will need the following tools:
• Drill bit set (fig. 4 1, page 4)
• Electric drill (fig. 4 2, page 4)
• Screwdriver (fig. 4 3, page 4)
• Set of ring or open-ended spanners (fig. 4 4, page 4)
• Measuring ruler (fig. 4 5, page 4)
• Hammer (fig. 4 6, page 4)
• Centre punch (fig. 4 7, page 4)
To establish and test the electrical connection, the following tools are required:
• Diode test lamp (fig. 4 8, page 4) or voltmeter (fig. 4 9, page 4)
• Crimping tool (fig. 4 10, page 4)
• Insulating tape (fig. 4 11, page 4)
• Cable bushing sleeves (optional)
To secure the controller and the cables, you may require additional screws and cable binders.

CAUTION!
Select the location of the modules so that they cannot injure the passengers in the vehi-
cle under any circumstances (e.g. sudden braking, road traffic accidents).
Observe the following installation instructions:
• The installation location must be protected from moisture and be inside the vehicle.
• The installation location should be level.
• Before drilling each hole, ensure there is sufficient space on the other side for the drill head to
emerge (fig. 5, page 5).
To perform the installation, proceed as follows:
➤ Attach the controller and the operating unit to their respective installation location
provisionally.
➤ Install the rear view video system if you have not already done so.
➤ Start up the rear view video system.
If transmission of the camera image is stable, you can carry out the final installation the control-
ler and operating unit.
