Slow Cooking
1. Fill the Slow Cook insert (2) with the desired food. In order to retain cooking fl avours, the food
should be quickly fried fi rst.
2. Place the water tank (4) on the main appliance (5).
Note: The appliance will not work without the water tank.
3. Then fi ll the water tank with clean water at least to the

MAX marking "Slow Cook" on the back of the water tank.
Note: the water level around the Slow Cook insert should correspond to the fi ll level inside the
Slow Cook insert in order to ensure optimum heat transfer to the food being cooked.

4. Then insert the Slow Cook insert into the water tank. Top up with a little water if required.
You can now slow cook using a pre-set custom cooking time or individually programmed
temperature and cooking time settings. Proceed as described in the section on "Sous Vide
cooking" in steps 4 to 9.
Note: When you remove the water tank from the device after use, a small residual amount of
water will spill from the pump onto the top of the main appliance. This is normal. Remove the
mains plug and empty the main appliance into the sink.
Setting the temperature unit (°C/°F) and water hardness
1. Place the water tank (4) on the main appliance (5).
2. Connect the appliance to the mains. The appliance is now in standby mode. Press the settings
button (9) and hold it down for at least 3 seconds. If the appliance is already in standby mode,
press the settings button (9) and hold it down for at least 3 seconds.
3. The °C icon fl ashes. By twisting the selector knob (12), you can change the setting to °F. In this
case, the preset temperature of 60°C is replaced with 140°F. Confi rm your selection by pressing the
selector knob again.
4. Instead of the time, the preset water hardness H4 now fl ashes on the display. By twisting the
selector knob, you can adjust this to H1 to H4 according to the water hardness where you live.
Note: You can fi nd out your water hardness from your council or from your energy and water
provider or online.
5. Once you have confi rmed the water hardness set, it is permanently saved in the device.
6. Then press the on/off button (7) to put the appliance into standby mode.

Limescale deposits increase the time it takes the Sous Vide Cooker to heat up. They also lead to energy
losses and impair the service life of the appliance.
The automatic scaling indicator determines the time for the next descaling cycle. Depending on the
level of use and hardness level of the water, you are prompted to run a descaling process by the fact
that the descaling
