General safety rules
WARNING! Please read all of the instructions. If you do not follow all the instructions shown below, you may suffer an electric shock, burns and/or
serious injury. The term "tool" used below refers to your mains or battery-operated tool (with or without electric lead).
PLEASE KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1) Working area
a) The working area is to be kept clean and well-lit at all times. Untidy
and/or poorly-lit working areas result in accidents.
b) Never use electrical tools in an explosive atmosphere, e.g. near
inflammable liquids or gas or dust. Electrical tools produce sparks
which can set light to dust or smoke.
c) Keep children and other people at a distance while in use. Any
distraction could cause you to lose control of the tool.
2) Electrical safety.
a) Female plugs must fit to the base correctly. Never modify them in
any way. Do not use adaptors with earthed tools. This will reduce your
risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces like pipes, radiators,
cookers and fridges. Failure to observe this instruction will increase
your risk of electric shock.
c) Do not expose the tools to rain or humidity. Risk of electric shock is
increased by the presence of water inside the tool.
d) Do not cause damage to the lead. Never use the lead to carry, pull
or unplug the tool. Keep the lead away from heat, lubricants, sharp or
pointed objects and moving parts. Damaged or tangled leads increase
the risk of electric shock.
e) For outdoor use, always use an extension lead appropriate to
outdoor use. This reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety.
a) Be careful, look at what you're doing and use your common sense
when using the tool. Never use when tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or prescription medicine. A moment of inattention can
lead to serious injury.
b) Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Use of safety
equipment - such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, headphones
or other ear protection - reduces your risk of injury.
c) Avoid accidental starting up. Make sure the switch is in the OFF
position before plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the
switch, or plugging them in when the switch is ON increases your risk
of accident.

Do not cover the battery during charging.
Keep the battery away from shocks, humidity, frost, heat or fire to avoid risk of explosion.
Do not place the battery on a radiator, or leave it in the sun for a long time.
Before charging a heated battery after use for a long time, let it cool down.
When the battery is not in its housing, protect the external contacts so as to prevent a short-circuit due to a steel bridge.
Do not recharge after use for a short time.
Take care that the battery never discharges completely. Recharge it from time to time if the drill is not used for a long time.
Before using a new battery for the first time, charge completely.
Poor storage or charging conditions will damage your battery irreparably. Always follow the required charging times.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL
d) Remove any adjustment key before switching on. A key left attached to a
moving part of the tool can provoke serious injury.
e) Do not rush. Maintain a balanced position at all times. In this way, you
will have better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
f) Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear flowing clothes or jewellery.
Keep hair, clothes and gloves at a distance from moving parts. Flowing
clothes, jewellery and long hair can get caught up in moving parts.
g) If there is provision for dust-collecting equipment, make sure it is
connected and correctly used. This will reduce the risks caused by dust.
4) Use and maintenance of the tool.
a) Do not force the tool. Always use the right tool for the job. The right tool
will do the job it was intended to do, better and more safely.
b) Do not use the tool if the ON/OFF switch is not working. Tools without
switches are dangerous and should be repaired.
c) Unplug the female plug from the mains before any adjustment; change
of accessories, and before putting away. These safety measures reduce
the risk of accidentally starting up the tool.
d) Always store tools unplugged and out of the reach of children, and
refuse access to anyone unfamiliar with either the tool or these safety
rules and instructions for use. Tools are dangerous in the hands of
inexperienced users.
e) The tool must be correctly maintained. Check that the moving parts are
correctly aligned and mobile, that there are no broken parts, and for any
other eventuality that could jeopardise the smooth-running of the tool. If
the tool becomes damaged, make sure it is repaired before you use it.
Many accidents are due to badly-maintained tools.
f) Make sure cutting tools are kept sharp and clean. Well-maintained
cutting tools are less likely to block, and easier to use.
g) Please use this tool, as well as any accessories and blades, etc., as per
the instructions and in the way intended for this type of tool, bearing in
minds both working conditions and the job in hand. Using the tool for
operations other than those it is intended for could give rise to dangerous
situations.
5) Maintenance
a) Have your tool maintained by a qualified repairer, who only uses
identical spare parts. This will ensure that the tool works safely.
