6. Before the fi rst use of the appliance

6.1. Cleaning the appliance and accessories

 Before first use, clean the baking tray and the crumb tray in warm water with a
commercially available washing-up liquid.
 Wipe the interior of the appliance and the grill with a damp cloth or sponge.
 Afterwards, dry the interior of the oven thoroughly.

6.2. Setting up and connection

 Connect the mains plug to an easily accessible and properly installed safety
power socket.
NOTE!
When setting up the appliance, follow the information in "4. Safety in-
structions" on page 86.

6.3. Heat up empty

 Before use, you should heat up the appliance once to eliminate production-re-
lated fat residues.
 Close the oven door.
 Set the operating dial to top and bottom heat, the temperature to 150°C and the
timer to approx. 15 minutes.
WARNING!
The housing and the oven door will be very hot during
usage. Touch only the handle of the oven door and the
switches. Always use pot holders/oven gloves to protect
yourself from burns!
NOTE!
During this first heating you may notice smoke and odours. This is nor-
mal. Open the window and ensure good ventilation.
