Unpacking Your Tool
Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Familiarise yourself with all its
features and functions.
Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any
parts are missing or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting
to use this tool.
Preparation
Warning. Always disconnect the tool from the air supply before
adjustment or maintenance is carried out
Recommended air supply
• This tool should be connected to a clean, dry air supply with inline oiler
and water separator
• Do not allow supply pressure to exceed the maximum stated (see
specification details)
• Ensure that all parts of the system (hoses, couplers, etc) are correctly
rated for the air pressure to be used
• If an automatic oiler (as per diagram below) is not used, pour two drops
of air tool oil into the air inlet of the quick connector before each use

• Dirty, wet air will rapidly corrode the internal working parts of this
machine and will shorten its working life significantly. Water collects in
the compressor tank and will cause serious corrosion. The tank must be
drained on a daily basis to prevent water build-up in the air supply
NOTE: Some air tools have built-in regulators which are used to control
speed/torque performance. Where a machine does not have a built-in
regulator, the speed/torque can still be adjusted by varying the pressure on
your air supply regulator
Fitting the quick connector
• A ¼" male BSP bayonet quick connector is supplied with this tool. The
connector screw fits onto the air inlet
• Remove the rubber protective cap to air inlet to fit the quick connector
• Applying PTFE tape to the screw threads will help to maintain an air tight
seal. Air lines fitted with matching ¼" connectors will now be a push fit
Checking the safety catch
WARNING. Always disconnect the tool from the air supply before any
adjustment or maintenance is carried out.
1. Ensure that there are no fasteners in the magazine
2. The Safety Catch (5) should move in and out with no obstruction
3. To test the safety catch is working correctly connect the tool to the
air supply
4. Push the safety catch against a piece of wood without pulling the
Trigger (7). The tool must not fire. Should the tool fire it must be
repaired before any further use
5. Hold the tool away from the piece of wood. The safety catch should
return to the original position
6. Pull the trigger. The tool must not fire. Should the tool fire it must be
repaired before any further use
7. Push the safety catch against the piece of wood, but this time pull the
trigger. The tool should fire and this indicates normal operation
Exhaust
• The Exhaust (8) can be adjusted simply by rotating it. Adjust it before use
so that escaping air will not affect you or others around you
Loading the magazine
WARNING . Always disconnect the tool from the air supply before any
adjustment, maintenance or loading is carried out.

1. Pull back the Magazine Latch (4) until it is held by the Locking Lever (3)
2. Insert fasteners in to the Magazine Loading Point (2) ensuring the point
of the fastener is facing forward (away from the handle of the tool)
3. Pull back the magazine latch and release the locking lever
4. Allow the magazine latch to slide forward and load the nails
Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT. Before firing a nail into the workpiece, always test the depth
of penetration on a piece of scrap material. See 'Adjusting the depth of
penetration' below.
1. Connect the tool to the air supply
2. Hold the tool firmly against the material so that the Safety Catch (5)
is depressed
3. Rotate the Air Exhaust (8) so that air escapes in a safe direction
(away from you)
4. Gently squeeze the Trigger (7) until the fastener is fired. Release
the trigger and check that the fastener has penetrated the material
correctly
Adjusting the depth of penetration
• The Depth Adjuster (6) enables you to adjust the depth of nail
penetration
• Rotate the adjuster a small amount at a time, firing a nail into a waste
piece of material, until the nail head penetrates by the amount you
require
Clearing jams
• Using the hex keys supplied, you can remove the magazine cover to gain
access to the magazine should a fastener become jammed
• After clearing any obstruction, take care to reassemble all components
correctly
Maintenance
Keep the machine oiled
IMPORTANT: Ensure air tools are kept clean and lubricated. Lubrication is
essential to prevent corrosion of internal parts, which could lead to machine
failure.
• Contact your retailer for suitable air tool oil. DO NOT UNDER ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES USE NORMAL ENGINE OIL
Every day, before use:
• With the machine disconnected from the air supply, pour the equivalent
of a tablespoon of oil (1.5ml) into the Quick Connector (or air intake)
• Operate the machine briefly (e.g. 2-4 seconds) at low speed to lubricate
all internal workings
Once a week:
• Wipe the body of the tool with a damp cloth. You can use a mild detergent
or non-flammable solvent
• Once clean, lubricate all moving parts with a light oil
NOTE: If the machine is in constant use or used for long periods at a time
a combined filter/lubricator must be fitted. There must be an air filter
fitted at all times.
• Failure to comply with the operating and maintenance instructions may
invalidate the guarantee
