1 - Description of the unit
The display units Fly are built in modules with a useful internal length of 920 mm (MODEL 100) and 1170 mm (MODEL
125) and with end-walls 30 mm thick. They can be hanged on shelving with module 100 and 125 and are equipped with
an integral condensing unit, ventilated refrigeration and accessories. The general features and dimensions are stated in
FIG. 1 on page 1.
2 - Handling the unit
The unit comes on wooden runners (wooden crating available on request) to allow handling by a forklift. FIG. 2 on page 1
shows the weight of the units in the different lengths and relevant lifting points. Only authorised personnel should handle
the unit.
3 - Receipt and storage
On delivery, make sure the cabinet has not been damaged, and check the conditions of the packing. If it shows any
damage, check the contents in the presence of the carrier. The cabinet should be protected from atmospheric agents,
and stored at a temperature between -25°C and +55°C, with relative humidity between 30% and 95%.
Remove the wooden runner and the padding around it (FIG. 3 at page 2). Position the cabinet exactly where you plan to
install it. Move the cabinet carefully, never pull it by the end walls! Unpack the cabinet with care.
Important: if the goods are delivered damaged, notify the manufacturer at once: any delay in reporting damage will
relieve the manufacturer of all liability.
Any damage to the cabinet occurring during shipment and storage may not be attributed to the manufacturer.
4 - Installation and environmental conditions
The unit must sit on a perfectly levelled floor. The efficiency of the unit may be endangered if it is not perfectly levelled! If
not, adjust it by screwing or unscrewing the feet (FIG. 4 page 2).
The display unit must never be placed in areas where explosive gas substances are used.
The unit should not be left outdoors or exposed to the rain (see FIG. 5 on page 2).
The performance of the cabinet refers (according to the international standard EN ISO 23953-1/2) to environmental
climatic class 3 which consists of a room temperature of 25°C with relative humidity of 60%.
Performance may suffer if the environmental conditions differ from those foreseen or the cabinets are exposed to air flows
of more than 0.2m/sec or sources of heat. To avoid this problem, the User should send the Manufacturer details of the
environmental conditions before finalising the design of the units, so that the technical parameters and material options
can be modified and the installer informed of the refrigerating power actually required.
Adequate space should be provided in the front and in the back of the cabinet to permit maintenance and cooling of the
condenser (FIG. 6 page 2).
5 - Electric connections
Important: installation should be made following the manufacturer's instructions, by qualified personnel only, in conformity
with the electric safety regulations in force. Please refer to the electrical diagram at page 5.
At the input of the supply it is necessary to install an omni-polar magnetothermic/differential device with contact opening
equal to 3 mm and adequate cut-off power.
Warning: Before connecting the unit to the mains, make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the
serial plate (bearing in mind that the max acceptable variations in voltage are +/- 10%). Check that the cable used has the
right cross-section and length to withstand the current and the power absorbed by the combination, as indicated in TAB. 2
on page 3. The plug-in units are supplied already fitted with a 2,5 m cable and plug (see FIG. 7 on page 3). Therefore, it
is essential not to exceed this length in connecting the cabinet to the wall socket. The cable should be fully extended in a
safe position away from possible impact and at a distance from liquids or water and heat sources. In case of breakage of
the power cable of the cabinet, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by institution in charge of it. The plug should
be accessible even after the installation of the cabinet.
Important: following the manufacturer's instructions, the installation should be made by qualified personnel, in conformity
with the electric safety regulations in force in the country where the cabinet is installed (electric safety regulations and
laws, accident prevention laws, fire prevention regulations, directives). An improper installation can cause damage to
people, animals or objects, for which the manufacturer has no liability.
Always ground the cabinet.
The manufacturer is not liable for any injuries caused by failure to respect this regulation.
If there is no wall socket close to the place where the cabinet is to be installed, provide for connection in conformity with
the regulations in force. Do not use adapter plugs.
The manufacturer has no liability for any damage to personnel or property caused by improper installation.
6 - Technical features
The cabinet is supplied with a plastic bag containing this instructions manual that must be kept. It contains technical data,
wiring diagrams and tables concerning the cabinet.
The technical data are also shown on the rating plate (FIG. 8 page 3). It indicates:
