Assembly instruction cylinder
DOPPLER ORIGIN.
Operation before assembly :
- Before stripping, clean the engine area and
engine external parts.
- Remove all parts necessary to reach to the engine.
- Empty the cooling circuit if the motor is liquid
cooled
- Unscrew the 4 cylinder head nuts and remove the
old cylinder.
- Clean carefully the gasket area of the crank case,
be sure that dirt does not enter into the crank case
(to prevent dirt from entering into the crank case
block it with a rag).
- Clean all new engine parts with gasoline to
remove machining dirt.
- Make sure that the other parts are in order to
work.
Piston/cylinder assembly :
• Check the rings gaps :
Put one ring into the cylinder 10 mm before the top of
the cylinder and check with gauge the ring gap. The
good gap must be between 0.12 and 0.17mm. If it is
necessary adjust the gap ling one of the ends of the
ring. Do the same with the other ring.
• Piston assembly :
Fit one side of the piston with a clip, lubricate the axle
and put it into the piston. Assemble the piston on the
connecting rod with the arrow to the exhaust side,
make sure that the piston ring pins are to the inlet side.
Put the second clip and check if they are in the grooves.
Fit the piston with the rings and check that each end of
the rings matches with ring piston pins.
Cylinder assembly :
•
Lubricate the cylinder gasket and put it on the crank
case. Lubricate regularly the inner cylinder and slide
the cylinder on the piston by compressing the piston
rings. Fit the cylinder head with the gasket and tighten
the nuts crosswise and gradually, then tighten the nuts
with 12 to 14 Nm torque.
Recommendations before using :
- Clean the air lter and the carburetor.
- Make sure that the inlet valves are impermeable and
replace it if it is necessary.
- Check the oil pump adjustment and check working
order.
- Change the spark plug
Running-in :
Don't exceed the half throttle position during the rst
300 km then don't exceed ¾ throttle position during
the next 200 km. After this distance, the running-in is
done.
We recommend the use of doppler oil 100% synthetic
for best results.
