• Close the lid.
Note:
The lid must be closed
tightly to prevent water
evaporation, which could
cause the appliance to boil
dry.
Heating water
• Press the required tem
perature button (4.1 4.4)
on the base (2) to switch
the kettle on. The LED on
the active temperature but
ton starts to flash and the
kettle heats the water.
CAUTION: Risk of burns:
– Never open the lid of the
jug while the kettle is in
the process of heating
water, as hot water may
splash out.
– When the kettle is
heating water, the outer
surface of the jug may
get very hot. Always use
the handle to hold the
kettle.
Once the target tempera
ture is reached, the LED
stops flashing and the kettle
switches off automatically.
Note:
To ensure that heat is dis
tributed evenly through the
water in the jug, the kettle
automatically switches off
and back on again sev
eral times between 70°C
and 95°C. A slight clicking
sound can be heard as this
happens.
Switching the appliance
off
Manually:
• Press the active tempera
ture button. The LED stops
flashing and the kettle stops
heating the water.
Automatically:
The kettle switches off auto
matically in the following
situations:
– if the jug is removed from
the base
– when the target tempera
ture is reached (overheat
ing protection)
– if there is not enough
water in the jug (boildry
protection)
Note:
Overheating protection and
boildry protection only work
if the jug lid is closed.
Adjusting the temperature
You can adjust the target
temperature while the kettle
is in the process of heating
water.
• Press the required tem
perature button (4.1 4.4).
The LED on the active
temperature button starts
to flash and the kettle heats
the water until the newly
selected target temperature
is reached.
Note:
If you select a lower tem
perature, the water may
need to cool down. In this
case, the process may take
longer.
Boildry protection
If the jug is empty or not
filled up to the minimum
fill level when the kettle is
switched on, all four LEDs
will flash and the kettle will
immediately switch off auto
matically. Follow the steps
below to ensure that the
kettle is ready for use again:
• Allow the kettle to cool
down for a few minutes.
• Fill the jug (3) with clear
water.
Note the minimum and
maximum water levels
(marked with "min." and
"max." on the water level
indicator (5)).
• Press the required tem
perature button (4.1 4.4).
The LED on the active
temperature button starts
to flash and the kettle heats
the water.
