Assembly back stabilisers
Check first if the RECARO Monza seat is prepared for the assembly of the back stabilisers. In
the assembly position (Fig. 1), two inserted anchor nuts need to be located on each side to
receive the bolted connection.
Otherwise please send the seat to our service department for retrofitting (retrofit set, item code
9700 91043 0002).
Insert the back stabilisers so that both bars point downwards (Fig. 2). Here, press the back
gently towards the seat. Attach the back stabilisers with the provided oval head screws (2 on
each side / with the 3 mm Allen-type wrench).
Note: Ensure screws are not overtightened to avoid stripping of the anchor nuts!
Pressure on the back may result in a cracking sound. This is normal and no indication of
damage. In order to avoid the cracking sound, remove the locking lip of the back before the
assembly of the stabilisers!
Removing the locking lip
The locking lip is located at the lower end of the back rest and prevents the folding of the
back rest outside of the vehicle. The locking lip is not safety-relevant and may be removed if
required.
Note: Keep in mind that the back rest is freely movable after removing the locking lip. Only the
back stabilisers avoid the free folding of the back rest after the locking lip has been removed.
a) Remove the back stabilisers (if installed)
b) Fold the back rest completely back and place the seat on the front to get access to the back
(Fig. 3).
c) Near the axis in the lower area of the back, you can see the locking lip. Cut the junction
of the locking lip to the back rest with a cutter until the locking lip is completely detached
(Fig. 4).
d) Install the back stabilisers as described above.
