ständigen Schaltzyklus durchlaufen.
Der Rückführeingang hat noch keinen vollständigen Schaltzyklus
durchlaufen.
Maximale Lebensdauer der Sensorkontakte erreicht
Versatz zwischen Sensor und Betätiger zu groß
Defekte Zuleitungen zu Sensoren und Schaltern

Use of the mounting and wiring instructions
Target group: authorised and qualified staff.
All actions described in these mounting and wiring instructions may
only be performed by qualified persons who have been trained and au-
thorised by the operating company. Do not install or operate this de-
vice until you have read and understood the mounting and wiring in-
structions and are familiar with the valid occupational safety and acci-
dent prevention regulations. Selection and installation of devices and
their integration in control systems demand qualified knowledge of
all the relevant laws, as well as the normative requirements of the
machine manufacturer.
In case of doubt, the German language version of these instructions
shall prevail.
Scope of delivery
1 device, 1 mounting and wiring instructions, 1 carton.
Intended use
The safety relay module SRM 21 RT2 is used for two-channel emer-
gency-stop or guard door applications. At maximum, either 1 NC and
1 NO or 2 NC contacts can be connected. When connecting 1 NC and
1 NO contact,the inputs must be wired parallelly. In addition, connect-
ed switching devices can be position-monitored if a feedback circuit
is connected.
Mounting and wiring
Store the device for at least 2 hours at room temperature. After this
waiting time, unpack the device, install it and put it into operation. In
case of condensation, let the device dry. Install it only after complete
drying. The activation and input contacts, the start inputs and selected
operational terminals need to be wired according to the intended pur-
pose. At inactive state, only the LED ON lights up - the safety outputs
are opened. The activation of the safety inputs is signalized by the
LEDs IN A and IN B. When Start is activated, the LED OUT lights up,
the signalling output Y1 is active and the relay contacts 13 - 14 and 23
- 24 are closed. Perform wiring in accordance with the purpose of use.
The wiring examples serve as orientation. Ensure that with capacitive
and inductive loads protective circuitry on output contacts is sufficient.
Trigger the relay at regular intervals and check for correct functioning:
at least once a month or as part of device maintenance cycle.

The electrical connection may only be carried out by authorised per-
sonnel. Reconstruction and alterations at the device are not allowed.
The described products have been developed in order to assume safety
functions as a part of an entire plant or machine. A complete safety
system normally covers sensors, monitoring modules, indicator
switches and concepts for safe disconnection. For the integration of
the device into the entire system, the control category determined in
the risk assessment must be strictly observed and respected. There-
fore, a validation according to EN ISO 13849-2 or EN 62061 is neces-
sary. Furthermore, the Performance Level according to EN ISO 13849-
1 and SIL CL Level according to EN 62061 can be lower than the single
level because of the combination of several safety components and
other safety-related devices, e.g. by serial connection of sensors. It is
the responsibility of the manufacturer of a plant or machine to guaran-
