USER GUIDE

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Please follow these safety rules to prevent injury from electric shocks, short circuits, and fires.
• Read the instructions carefully before you use the radio for the first time.
• Never touch live parts. Electric shock may cause serious injury or death.
• Connect the DAB radio only to a 230 V/50 Hz AC outlet. The outlet should be fitted with a fuse of at least six
amps; see information on label. Please comply with local laws and standards.
• Do not cover the radio, and ensure that the air inlets and outlets remain unobstructed. Do not use near
flammable materials, flames, or open fires.
• Never place the radio or power cable near heat sources such as ovens, cookers, radiators, or devices that give
off heat. Do not use in explosion hazard areas.
• Do not place the unit near baths or sinks if there is a risk that it could fall into water. Risk of Electric Shock!
• Do not use outdoors, and protect from rain and humidity. Do not allow the radio, power cable or plug to come
into contact with water or other liquids. Never place the radio on a wet surface. Risk of Electric Shock!
• The radio is not designed for commercial use.
• Place in a safe environment, on a flat, heat-resistant, stable and dry surface.
• Do not insert items into the unit.
• Use only original accessories as supplied with the device, as otherwise it could be damaged and there is a risk
of electric shock, fire, and injury.
• In the event of a hazard or defect, immediately unplug the radio. For this reason, the plug should always be
easily accessible.
• Electrical devices are not toys. Never leave the DAB radio unattended while in operation or plugged in, and
keep it out of reach of children. The radio and power cable should normally be kept away from children aged
under eight.
• Do not allow children to play with the packaging material, as plastic bags can cause suffocation.
• Children aged eight or over, and adults with physical, sensory or mental impairment, or lacking knowledge
and experience, should not use the radio without supervision by a responsible person. They should also
understand the hazards associated with it. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the radio without su-
pervision.
• Do not allow children to play with the unit.
• Do not use while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Always operate the unit with dry hands. Do not plug in or unplug the radio with wet hands. Do not unplug the
radio by pulling on the cable.
• Do not place heavy objects on the power cable, or place it in the vicinity of sharp edges or in places where
people could get caught in it or trip over it. Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces.
• Unplug the radio when not in use, while cleaning it, and during thunderstorms.
• Please contact the retailer if your unit needs repair. Do not remove housings or carry out repairs yourself.
Risk of Electric Shock!
• Check the radio before you use it.
• Ensure that the power cable and plug are in good condition, and protect them from damp. Do not use the
radio if it is damaged or defective, and have it checked by your retailer.
• Inappropriate repairs and handling may cause significant hazards to you and those around you. We do not accept
liability for damage caused by misuse, failure to comply with local safety requirements or with these instructions.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Caution: Unplug the radio before cleaning it.
• Clean the outside of the housing with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use detergents.
• Do not immerse the power cable, plug, or radio in water or other liquids. Danger of damage to the unit,
electric shock, fire, and injury.
• Do not clean the radio with abrasives, harsh cleaning materials or sponges which could scratch the surface.
