3. Safety
3.1. GROUPED SAFETY MESSAGES
Chemical substances hazardous to the environment
Material and environmental damage in the event of improper stor-
age of substances hazardous to the environment.
» Do not exceed the maximum filling quantities.
» Remove liquids that have leaked immediately and without leav-
ing any residue.
» Observe the material compatibility of the stored substances.
» Only store chemicals in suitable containers and with proper la-
belling.
» Keep doors closed.
Cabinet, roller cabinet or rack toppling
Risk of injury to hands, feet or body.
» It is essential the cabinet is secured against toppling.
» Wear safety shoes and safety gloves.
» Do not store workpieces unsecured.
» Do not open several drawers at once.
» Keep cabinet shell cover clear of objects during transport.
» Set down heavy objects slowly.
» Ensure during movement and transport that all drawers and cup-
board doors are closed and locked.
» Comply with the maximum load capacity.
3.2. INTENDED USE
For work in indoor industrial environments. For use on dry solid
floors.
Use only in a technically perfect and safe condition.
Use exclusively approved Hoffmann Group accessories for modi-
fication or rebuilding.
Keep doors' swing range unobstructed, keep doors and drawers
closed.
It is essential the cabinet is secured against toppling.
Comply with the maximum load capacity.
Secure stored containers against tipping over.

3.2.1. Liquids cabinet
For storage of oil containers.
When withdrawing liquids, position the oil tray under the con-
tainer to be filled.
Store a maximum of four containers of 25 litres in volume each
or five containers of 10 litres in volume each per shelf.
Oil container suitable for storing acid-free liquids, oils and
greases with a flash point over 55°C.
Only equip with pull-out shelf for liquids cabinets.
3.2.2. Chemicals storage cabinet
For storing plant pesticides and liquids that are toxic and pollut-
ing to ground water of the GHS categories 1 to 4.
For storing containers with a maximum filling quantity of 20
litres per shelf. Do not exceed total volume of 200 litres for all
containers per shelf.
Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 100 kg per shelf.
Only store substances that are compatible with the material of
the containment tray.
Only store compatible substances together.
Maintain a minimum distance of 1 cm between the container
and edge of the tray.
Keep ventilation slots clear; do not cover.
After maintaining the tray, have the manufacturer or specialised
company carry out a leak test.
Only equip with containment tray item no. 980096.
3.3. REASONABLY FORESEEABLE MISUSE
Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Do not make any unauthorised changes or modifications.
Do not expose the work lamp to intense heat, direct sunlight or
naked flames.
Do not place objects on cabinet shell that will extend beyond its
edge.
Do not climb into or sit on cabinet, drawers or storage shelf.
Do not place articles in the cabinet roughly.
Do not store any foodstuffs.
3.3.1. Liquids cabinet
Do not store any hazardous substances or chemicals.
3.3.2. Chemicals storage cabinet
Do not store flammable liquids or aggressive substances.
Do not use if containment tray has corrosion damage, cracks or
leaks.
Do not drill into containment tray or modify it in any way.
No do expose it to water, precipitation or contamination.
3.4. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Comply with the national and regional regulations for safety and ac-
cident prevention. Select and provide protective work wear such as
safety shoes and safety gloves appropriate for the risks associated
with the intended activities. Wear suitable protective work wear
when loading or withdrawing liquids. Whether the protective work
wear is suitable or not depends of the hazardous substance used.
3.5. PERSONNEL QUALIFICATIONS
Specialists for mechanical work
Specialists in the sense of this documentation are persons who are
familiar with assembly work, mechanical installation, commission-
ing, troubleshooting and maintenance of the products and who
possess the following qualifications:
Qualification / training in the field of mechanics as specified in
the nationally applicable regulations.
Trained person
Trained persons in the sense of this documentation are persons
who have been trained to perform work in the areas of transport,
storage and operation.
