Important
Please read this instruction carefully before using the appliance.
Please keep this DFU for future reference.
Do not use the appliance if the plug, the cord or the appliance itself is damaged.
Before you connect the appliance, check whether the mains voltage indicated on
the appliance corresponds with the mains voltage in your home.
Preparing the appliance for use
- Clean the jug and filterholder (see section 'Cleaning').
- Place the appliance on a stable surface.
Do not put the appliance on a hot surface.
Keep the appliance out of the reach of children and make sure that they are unable to
pull at the cord.
- Put the plug in an earthed wall socket.
You can store excess cord at the back of the appliance (fig. 1).
Prevent the cord from coming into contact with hot surfaces.
- Open the lid (fig. 2).
- Fill the watertank to the MAX-indication with cold, fresh water and put the jug in
place (fig. 3).
Do not put a filter and coffee in the basket.
- Switch the appliance on by pressing the button (fig. 4).
The pilot light goes on (type HD7444 only).

Let the appliance run until the watertank is completely empty.
- After all water is in the jug: switch off the appliance.
Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start brewing coffee.
Brewing coffee
- Open the lid.
- Fill the watertank with the desired amount of cold, fresh water (fig. 5).
The level indications on the left apply to large cups (120 ml).
The level indications on the right apply to small cups (80 ml).
- Close the lid.
- Place the jug.
- Open the filter holder (fig. 6).
- Put a paper filter (type 1x4 or no.4) in the filter holder.
Do not forget to fold the sealed edges of the filter.
Some versions come with a permanent filter. In this case, you do not need to use a
paper filter.
- Put pre-ground coffee (filter-fine grind) in the filter (fig. 7).
For large cups: use one full measuring spoon for each cup.
For small cups: use one level measuring spoon for each cup.
- Close the lid.
- Switch the appliance on by pressing the button.
The pilot light will go on (type HD7444 only).

- Switch the appliance off after use.
Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start brewing coffee
again.
Cleaning
- Unplug the appliance.
- Clean the outside of the appliance with a moist cloth.
Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Clean the jug and the removable filterholder in hot soapy water or in the
dishwasher (fig. 8).
Descaling
Descale the appliance regularly. In case of normal use:
- 2 or 3 times a year if your using soft water (less than 18°DH);
- 4 or 5 times a year if you are using hard water (more than 18°DH).
Turn to your local water board for information about the water hardness in your area.
- Use an appropriate descaler or fill the water tank with white vinegar. Do not put
a filter and coffee in the filter holder.
- Let the appliance complete two runs.
See 'Brewing coffee'. Let the appliance cool down before you start the second run.
- Let the appliance complete two more runs with fresh, cold water to remove any
vinegar and scale residues.
- Clean the separate parts.
Replacement
Cord
If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips, a service centre authorised
by Philips or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Jug
You can order a new jug under type number HD7955 or HD7956, depending on the
type and color of your coffee maker. Please check with your local Philips dealer or
Philips Service Centre.
Permanent filter
A permanent filter is available under service nr.:
- 4822 480 50402 ('gold' filter);
- 4822 480 50479.

Troubleshooting guide
FRANCAIS
Important
N'utilisez jamais l'appareil si la fiche ou le cordon d'alimentation est endommagé.
Avant de brancher l'appareil, vérifiez que la tension indiquée sur celui-ci
correspond à celle du secteur de votre habitation.
Avant la première utilisation
- Nettoyez la verseuse, ainsi que le porte-filtre (voir paragraphe 'Nettoyage').
- Placez l'appareil sur une surface stable.
Ne posez jamais l'appareil sur une surface chaude.
Veillez à ce que l'appareil soit hors de portée des enfants. Empêchez
les de tirer sur le cordon.
- Branchez toujours la fiche d'alimentation sur une prise équipée de terre.
Vous pouvez ajuster la longeur du cordon en le faisant pénétrer à l'arrière de
l'appareil (fig. 1).
Veillez à ce que le cordon d'alimentation ne soit pas en contact avec
des surfaces chaudes.
- Levez le couvercle (fig. 2).
- Remplissez le réservoir jusqu'au Maxi avec de l'eau fraîche et mettez la verseuse
en place (fig. 3).
Ne mettez pas de filtre, ni de café pour cette première opération.
- Mettez en marche à l'aide de l'interrupteur (fig. 4).
Le témoin lumineux s'allume (uniquement modèle HD7444).

Laissez l'eau s'écouler jusqu'à ce que le réservoir soit vide.
- Lorsque toute l'eau a fini de s'écouler, arrêtez l'appareil.
Attendez au moins 3 minutes, que l'appareil refroidisse, avant de faire du café.
Pour faire du café
- Levez le couvercle.
- Remplissez le réservoir avec la quantité d'eau froide désirée (fig. 5).
Les indications de niveau sur le côté gauche correspondent à de grandes tasses (120ml).
Les indications de niveau sur le côté droit correspondent à de petites tasses (80ml).
- Refermez le couvercle.
- Mettez la verseuse à sa place.
- Ouvrez le porte-filtre (fig. 6).
- Placez-y un filtre papier (type 1x4 ou n°4).
Rabattez les bords du filtre si nécessaire.
Certaines versions de cafetière sont équipées de filtre permanent. Dans ce cas n'utilisez
pas de filtre papier.
- Mettez le café moulu dans le filtre (fig. 7).
Utilisez une dose pleine pour chaque grande tasse.
Utilisez une dose rase pour chaque petite tasse.
- Fermez le couvercle.
- Mettez en marche.
Le témoin lumineux s'allume (uniquement modèle HD7444).

- Arrêtez la cafetière après utilisation.
Laissez l'appareil refroidir au moins 3 minutes, avant de faire du café à nouveau.
Nettoyage
- Débranchez l'appareil.
- Nettoyez l'extérieur de la cafetière à l'aide d'un chiffon humide.
Ne plongez jamais l'appareil dans l'eau.
- Nettoyez la verseuse ainsi que le porte-filtre avec de l'eau savonneuse ou au
lave-vaisselle (fig. 8).
Détartrage
Détartrez votre cafetière régulièrement. Pour une utilisation normale :
- 22 ou 3 fois par an si votre eau n'est pas trop calcaire (inférieure à 18°TH) ;
- 4 ou 5 fois par an si votre eau est dure (supérieure à 18°TH).
Renseignez-vous auprès de votre distributeur local.
- Utilisez un détartrant alimentaire ou du vinaigre blanc.
- Effectuez cette opération deux fois de suite.
Laissez l'appareil refroidir avant la deuxième opération (voir 'Pour faire du cafè').
- Faites fonctionner à nouveau la cafetière deux fois avec de l'eau froide afin
d'éliminer les particules de calcaire et le vinaigre restant.
- Nettoyez les parties amovibles.
Maintenance
Cordon d'alimentation
Si le cordon d'alimentation est endommagé, il ne doit être remplacé que par Philips,
par un Centre Service Agréé Philips ou par des personnes qualifiées pour éviter tout
accident.
Verseuse
Vous pouvez vous procurer une verseuse de remplacement de type HD7955 ou
HD7956 (en fonction de la couleur de votre cafetière) auprès de votre revendeur ou
Centre Service Agréé Philips.
Filtre permanent

The cups overflow The water tank must be filled by means of the cups to be used. If
the water tank is filled to the maximum level, the Duo cups that
have been supplied with the appliance will overflow.

Preparar el aparato para el uso

No se le olvide plegar los bordes de cierre del filtro.
Algunas versiones tienen un filtro permanente. En este caso no hay que utilizar un filtro
de papel.
- Ponga café molido (molido para filtro fino) en el filtro (fig. 7).
Para tazas grandes: una cucharada llena por taza.
Para tazas pequeñas: una cucharada rasa por taza.
- Cierre la tapa.
- Conecte el aparato presionando el botón.
La lámpara piloto se iluminará (sólo versión HD7444).

- Desconecte el aparato después del uso.
Deje enfriar el aparato durante al menos 3 minutos antes de volver a hacer café.
Limpieza
- Desenchufe el aparato.
- Limpie el aparato exteriormente con un paño húmedo.
Jamás sumerja el aparato en agua.
- Limpie la jarra y el portafiltros desmontable en agua jabonosa caliente o en el
lavavajillas (fig. 8).
Desincrustación
Desincruste el aparato regularmente. En caso de uso normal:
- 2 ó 3 veces al año si utiliza agua blanda (menos de 18°DH);
- 4 ó 5 veces al año si utiliza agua dura (más de 18°DH).
Consulte a la compañía suministradora de agua para información sobre la dureza del
agua en su región.
- Utilice un desincrustante apropiado o llene el depósito de vinagre blanco. No

Deixe a máquina trabalhar até esvaziar totalmente o reservatório.
- Quando toda a água tiver passado para o jarro: desligue a máquina.
Deixe a máquina arrefecer durante pelo menos 3 minutos antes de começar a fazer café.
Preparação do café
- Abra a tampa.
- Deite a quantidade desejada de água limpa e fresca no reservatório (fig. 5).
As indicações da esquerda referem-se a chávenas grandes (1.2 dl).
As indicações da direita referem-se a chávenas pequenas (0.8 dl).
- Feche a tampa.
- Coloque o jarro.
- Abra o suporte do filtro (fig. 6).
- Coloque um filtro de papel (tipo 1x4 ou nr. 4) no suporte.
Não se esqueça de dobrar as uniões do filtro.
Alguns modelos são fornecidos com um filtro permanente. Nestes casos, não é preciso
colocar o filtro de papel.
- Deite o café moído (moagem normal) sobre o filtro (fig. 7).
Chávenas grandes: uma medida cheia de café por chávena.
Chávenas pequenas: uma medida rasa de café por chávena.
- Feche a tampa.

Membiarkan alat mendingin dulu semasa sekurang-kurangnya 3 menitsebelum Anda
mulai memasak kopi lagi.
Pembersihan
- Mencabut palam alat.
- Membersihkan bahagian luar alat dengan kain lembap.
Jangan mencelup alat di dalam air.
- Membersihkan jag dan pemegang turas yang dapat dikeluarkan dengan air
bersabun yang panas atau di mesin basuh pinggan mangkuk (şekil 8).
Penghapuskapuran
Menghapuskapurkan alat dengan tetap. Kalau penggunaannya biasa:
- 2 atau 3 kali setahun kalau Anda menggunakan air lembut (kurang dari 18°DH );
- 4 atau 5 kali setahun kalau Anda menggunakan air liat (lebih dari 18°DH).
Maklumat tentang keliatan air di kawasan Anda ada di lembaga air tempatan.
- Menggunakan alat penghapuskapuran yang sesuai atau mengisi tangki air dengan
cuka putih. Jangan menaruh turas dan kopi di pemegang turas.
- Menjalankan alat dua kali.
Lihat 'Membuat kopi'. Membiarkan alat mendingin dulu sebelum Anda mulai
menjalankan kali kedua.
- Menjalankan alat itu dua kali lagi dengan air segar yang dingin untuk menghilangkan
semua sisa cuka dan kapur.
- Membersihkan tiap bahagian.
Penggantian

Jika wayar utama rosak, ia mesti digantikan oleh Philips, pusat servis yang dibenarkan
oleh Philips atau pihak-pihak yang telah diluluskan bagi mengelakkan bahaya.

tergantung pada jenis dan warna mesin kopi Anda. Silakan menanyakan peniaga Philips
tempatan Anda atau Pusat Servis Philips.
