Q3: Why is the DVR unable to detect the CF card?
1. The CF card file system is not FAT16 or FAT32.
2. It is suggested not to use CF card with storage capacity below 8Mbytes.
3. Recommended CF card brands: Apacer, Sandisk, Transcend, Hagiware, Silicon etc. Test results show that some
unknown brand CF cards have compatibility problems because of a wider connector head.
Q4: Why does it sometimes take a longer time to exit "Check Hard Disk" selection?
After power-on the system determines whether or not it is in overwrite status. When it is, the system auto deletes the
oldest video data. Checking and deleting data requires some time; the power-on time will be longer than normal.
Q5: When the device reboots after a software update, it remains on live display for a while and cannot be operated.
After a software update, the system formats the whole hard disk after the first time power-on (to ensure that the
system operates normally after software update).
Q6: Why does it show only 137G-storage capacity, while the actual capacity is 160G?
The highest compatible storage capacity supported by the DVR is 120G. Hard disk compatibility tests have been
made on: MAXTOR 120G, 80G, 40G ; WD 120G, 80G, 40G ; HITACHI 120G, 80G, 40G.
Q7: What are the formats for hard disk and CF card? What file type does the device produce?
Hard disk uses FAT32 format. The sub file name for Hard disk and CF card is .asf file. Therefore, it may be viewed
by using the window media player supported by the PC.
Q8: What specifications should be respected when purchasing a hard disk (e.g.: ATA, buffer, RPM etc.)?
Suggested hard disk capacity is 40GB, 80GB or 120GB. RPM is limited to 7200RPM. No limits on ATA or buffer.
