Clean the outside of the kettle and the base with a soft, damp cloth: do not use
metal scouring pads or abrasive products. It cannot be washed in a dishwasher or
even under running water: if the electrical parts (including the power cord and
plug) become wet, dry carefully and completely before use.
To clean the filter, remove it from the kettle and wash it under running water
(see diagram) and check that it is dry before refitting it.
If you decide not to use the appliance any more, it must be rendered unusable by
cutting off the power supply cord (first making sure that the plug has been
removed from the power socket), and any parts which are hazardous if used as
children's playthings must be rendered harmless.
