INTRODUCTION
You have chosen a kayak designed and made in Europe by one of the major Sit-on-Top specialists.
The YAKKAir is a very innovative kayak, and was designed and made by making optimum use
of the materials and all the different parts of the kayak, in order to obtain the best ratio
glide / weight / solidity:
THE DECK: The deck is made up of a very solid PVC skin that lies over a high-pressure
infl atable PVC keel. The particular shape of the bow gives the boat an effortless glide through
the chop. These features provide particular performance and tracking ability heretofore
unknown to infl atable boats.
THE FLOOR: The high-pressure infl atable fl oor provides rigidity and comfort to the paddler,
enabling him/her to stay dry and contributing to the overall performance of the kayak.
THE EMERGED PART: For the parts above water level, we have sought to make them light yet
strong, and, using our expertise in kitesurf technology, we have succeeded in making them
strong enough to withstand outside knocks: The two main bladders are made of urethane
(as in the case of kites), which are protected by a highly-resistant Dacron envelope, which is in
turn surrounded by a polyester skin between the deck and the hull. Anatomic backrests come
with the kayak as well as adjustable footrests to ensure maximum comfort and enhanced
paddle-stroke.
To ensure maximum life out of your kayak, a certain amount of care must be taken when
setting it up and maintaining it. Read this leafl et carefully. We wish you a lot of pleasant
outings with your YAKKAir.
