General Information
The following generally applies:
• Make sure that the cable loops are not subjected to
bending when storing the precast elements.
• According to the safety regulations repeated lifting is
not permitted. Multiple lifting of an element in the
normal sequence of manufacture and transporting
to fi nal installation is not classed as repeated use.
• After fi nal installation the protruding lifting loop can be
removed.
Note:
When using shackles to lift, the diameter of the
shackles must under no circumstances be less
than double the cable diameter of the lifting
loop. We recommend using shackles with a
diameter 5 times the diameter of the lifting loop
cable.
Any damaged cable must be discarded in strict
accordance with the applicable safety regulations
for lifting equipment (e.g. as in DIN 3088). The
regulations state that lifting with equipment with
the following defects in the cable is not permit-
ted – this also includes lifting in the normal
sequence of transporting;
• 4 cable wire breaks over a cable length of
3 times the cable diameter or
• 16 cable wire breaks over a cable length of
6 times the cable diameter or
• 16 cable wire breaks over a cable length of
30 times the cable diameter.

• Accident prevention regulations must be observed.
• In particular always observe the regulations for hoisting
and lifting equipment according to DIN EN13 414 as
well as the VDI/BV-BS 6205 regulations for "Transport
anchors and transport anchors systems for precast
concrete elements".
Lifting loops showing signs of damage; broken
strands, kinking, bird-caging or other corrosion
that require discarding in accordance with DIN
