Introduction
This manual provides instructions that will guarantee proper installation, operation and
maintenance of the Smart Tail Docker with Fan (Forthwith known as the Smart Tail Docker). You
should only perform installation after carefully reading and understanding this manual.
Improper use of the installation could cause damage to the installation, yourself, or goods and
materials. Therefore, only use the installation in technically perfect condition, and only for the
purpose for which it was designed.
No technical changes to the installation are permitted, unless the manufacturer has given express
written permission. Without the abovementioned permission the manufacturer's guarantee becomes
void. This guide contains information regarding operation, maintenance and tracing and
troubleshooting faults. You should take note of all relevant information in this manual before
installing or operating the system. This is important for averting material damage and personal
injury. Careful and precise assembly results in good operation.
In the design of this installation, MS Schippers has given special attention to safety during
installation, operation and maintenance. However, it remains the user's responsibility to observe
the safety regulations at work.
Application
The Smart Tail Docker module with fan is used on the MS Multi Treatment Unit, to dock new born
piglets' tails. Due to the heat of the knife, the wound is immediately cauterized, reducing the risk of
infection. The use of the MS Smart Tail Docker has a positive effect on animal health (wound
cauterized more quickly and effectively).
In addition, the Smart Tail Docker module is equipped with a spacer, which can be adjusted to
dock all tails at the same length.
