SOLUTION
Be sure power cord is plugged into the power
supply and a grounded outlet and the power
switch is ON.
Be sure the controller cable is plugged into the
controller and the power supply.
Call Metcal RMA Department.
Rotate the lever away from the stopping point and
try inserting the nozzle again.
Remove and re-attach the vacuum cup per the
directions in this user guide. Then use the Z-axis
knob to lift the nozzle farther from the component
during removal so the vacuum tube is not pushed
up as far.
Same as above
Attach a vacuum cup per the directions in this
guide. See p. 11.
Remove the old vacuum cup and install a new
one per the directions in this user guide.
(See also "Maintenance - Vacuum Cup")
Remove and re-attach the vacuum cup per the
directions in this user guide.
Replace the vacuum cup and clean the vacuum
tube per the directions in "Vacuum Tube
Maintenance". If the problem persists,
contact Metcal Customer Care.
Hold the top of the vacuum tube for at least five
seconds until the vacuum cup can hold for itself.
Be sure you are using the correct nozzle for that
component. Nozzles are designed to allow space
for the component leads.
(See the Nozzle Selection Chart)
Be sure the part is centered under the nozzle
when the cycle begins.
Remove and re-attach the vacuum cup per the
directions in this user guide.
Contact Metcal Technical Services for
instructions on how to increase the spring
tension.

ERROR CODES

The QX2 is programmed to identify certain problems in the proper function of the
system. If one of these problems occurs, the system will shut down and one of the
following error codes will appear on the controller display. The system must be
turned off to reset the error message.
"Int Temp Error"
The internal temperature of the power supply is too high and
may damage the electronic circuitry. If this error occurs
repeatedly, the QX2 should be moved to a cooler location.
"Overtemp Error"
The temperature of the heater is too high. Contact Metcal
Technical Services if this error occurs repeatedly.
"Heater Error"
The controller has not detected a temperature from the heater,
indicating a broken heater or thermocouple.
"Control Timeout"
The power supply and controller have been out of
communication for too long. This error will occur if you
unplug the controller cable while the system is on.
"Comm Error"
The power supply or controller got a signal that it did not understand.
If it happens repeatedly, contact Metcal Technical Services.
