Take care when using oil and grease to avoid serious personal injury. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to
prevent irritation to the eyes and skin. If oil or grease gets into your eyes, flush them with water for 15 minutes.
Have your eyes checked by a doctor as soon as possible.
1. OIL SPECIFICATION
Due to the heavy duty operation, only a multi grade lubricant 80W90 with service level API GL5 and approved as meeting
U.S. SAE J2360 specification (formerly MIL L 2105 D) is recommended.
All lubricants used must be compatible between them, with grease used and seals materials.
Avoid mixing two different oil types, even if from the same trade name.
2. OIL CHANGE INTERVAL
First oil change : After 100 hours or 2500 miles.
!
The first oil change is very important for the longevity of the unit, do not forget it.
Lubricant level check : Every 250 hours or 5000 miles. Use the carrier level plug and the level control hole for the
wheel-end to do it.
Oil change : Every 25,000 miles.
The oil change interval varies due to the type of vehicle and its use; it is very important to respect the oil level checks
and to change oil according to the oil pollution.
Lubricant capacities : Lubricant capacities shown onto axle specification sheets and installation drawings are given
as a guide line only. The oil levels only (carrier and wheel-ends) determine the correct quantity according to the unit.
3. DRAINING PROCEDURE
Do the draining when the vehicle has just been operating and the oil is still warm.
The vehicle must be on a level floor. Position the wheels to put one of the two plugs down. Remove draining plugs from
wheel-ends and carrier. Allow enough time for the fluid to flow out completely.
Clean draining plugs, install and tighten them to 18-25 ft-lbs (25-35 Nm).
4. FILLING PROCEDURE
Fill the carrier until fluid flows from the oil hole.
Allow enough time for the fluid to flow through the assembly.
Clean the filling plug before install and tighten it to 18-25 ft-lbs
(25-35 Nm).

5. GREASING INTERVAL
Grease type : GRADE NLGI 2.
Inner wheel bearings : Remove, clean and repack every 50,000 miles.
Suspension bushings and Cardan joints : Re-grease every 3000 miles or quarterly.
