General safety measures and precautions
The safety measures specified below must be closely followed. Safe operation of the
air inflator requires that you must read the instructions and safety precautions carefully and
follow all instructions before using the air inflator.
•
The air inflator is designed for occasional use. Inflation over a long period will overheat the
air inflator and may ruin it.
•
The air inflator must not operate for more than 10 minutes at a time, after which it must be
switched off and set aside for cooling for at least 10 minutes before restarting.
•
If the air inflator emits abnormal sounds or overheats, turn it off immediately and let it cool
off for about 30 minutes.
•
Incorrect use of the air inflator may damage it.
•
Never use the air inflator near flammable fluids, gases or open fire. Make sure your
working area is well lit.
•
Protect yourself against electric shock. Avoid physical contact with grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, electric stoves, refrigerators, etc.
•
Never allow children to connect/disconnect the air inflator to/from power sources. Never
leave children unattended with the air inflator and never allow them to play with the
accessories.
•
Never allow anyone to pump air into the mouth, ears, nose or the like. Never use the air
inflator as a toy.
•
Store the air inflator in a secure location. If the air inflator is not used for long periods of
time, it should be stored in a dry, locked space inaccessible to children.
•
Regularly check the cord of the charger. Never carry the charger by the cord and never
pull the plug out of the outlet by jerking the cord. Make sure that the cord is not exposed to
hot objects, oil or sharp edges.
•
Provide proper maintenance. Keep the air inflator clean to achieve maximum output and
safety. Examine the plug, charger and cord at regular intervals and have them repaired by
an expert if they are damaged.
•
Pull the charger plug out of the plug socket when the charger is not in use and when the air
inflator is being started and switched off.
•
Stay alert. Always pay attention to what you are doing when working with the air inflator,
charger and battery.
• Warning!
For your own safety you should only use accessories and other parts that are
specified in the instructions or recommended for use by the manufacturer. Use of accesso-
ries and other parts that are not mentioned in the instructions may entail an increased risk
for the user of the air inflator.
If your AirMan includes battery, please read the following instructions and precautions carefully.
Charging the battery
For optimum use of your new cordless air inflator, you should ensure that the battery is always
charged. Take the battery out of the air inflator and put the charger's jack plug in the battery's
connector. Connect the charger to a power source and switch on. A small indicator lights up red as
long as the battery is connected to the charger – it will not switch off or otherwise indicate that the
battery is fully charged.
Batteries and environment
The accompanying battery can be recharged at least 500 times, but when you have to replace the
battery, we ask you to consider the environment. Never open the battery. Dispose of a defective
battery in an environmentally friendly manner - do not leave it in nature, do not burn it.
•
Remove the paper-slip from the battery before use!
•
The battery and charger are designed for each other. Only an AirMan charger must be used for
charging.
•
The charging time for the first charge using the accompanying AC charger is 15 hours.
•
A new battery first gives 100% performance when it has been discharged and charged 4-5 times.
•
Subsequent charges take 5-10 hours - depending on discharge. Never charge the battery quickly
several times in succession. Allow hot battery to cool off completely before charging.
•
The charging time must not exceed 24 hours.
•
In order to preserve the battery's capacity, it should be almost fully discharged once in a while.
•
If battery is not used for a long period of time, never be discharged completely and should be
charged regularly.
•
When the operating period per charge is significantly reduced, this is a sign that the battery is
worn and should be replaced.
•
Pull the charger plug out of the plug socket when the charger is not in use. When the battery is not
sitting in the air inflator, its plug surfaces should be covered in order to avoid short-circuiting
caused by metallic arcing.
•
Never expose the air inflator or battery to rain or frost or temperatures above 50˚C. Never charge
the battery in humid or wet locations or outdoors.
•
Do not open the battery pack. Protect it against impact. The battery should be stored in a dry,
frost-free place.
•
Regularly check the cord of the charger. Never carry the charger by the cord and never pull the
plug out of the outlet by jerking the cord. Make sure that the cord is not exposed to hot objects, oil
or sharp edges.
