The antenna must be placed outdoor at the top of a building in order to obtain the
widest possible unobstructed horizon around it. Any building or small hill more than
5 degrees above the line of the horizon may obstruct one or more satellites, thus
reducing the performance of the antenna.

6.2. COnnECtIOn tO an Rt4000 OR Rt1000 tIME CEntRE

An RT3000 or RT1000 time centre is linked by a single two-wire cable connecting
the IRIG B / AFNOR output on the RT B GPS generator (terminal B1) to the syn-
chronization input connection terminals on the time centre.
The Afnor output is without polarity.

Connect the 230 VAC supply (115 VAC or 18-72 VDC, 12VDC or 24VDC as
options).

7.2. InItIaLIzatIOn PhaSE

The initialization phase of the RT B GPS generator starts as soon as the external
power supply is present.
When the first satellite is locked, indicator LD5 lights.
The IRIG B / AFNOR code is not transmitted during this phase.
As soon as the RT B GPS acquires a number of satellites that permits to compute
its position and the UTC time, the «NAV. MODE» indicator LD4 lights and the «IRIG
B» indicator LD2 starts to flash.
The "PPS PULSE" indicator LD3 shows the PPS (Pulse per second) that is gene-
rated by the GPS card.
