Maintain a suffi cient distance from sources of heat such as
hobs, ovens, fi replaces or lit candles.
In the interest of your own safety, you should therefore inspect
the article for damage each time before you use it. It should
only be used if it is not damaged in any way!
Do not take the article apart (except to remove the battery
prior to disposal). Have any repairs done only by a specialist
workshop or the customer service department.
The article should not be placed near to other light sources so
that it can be switched on automatically when it gets dark.

Use
ATTENTION
Danger of electric shock! The metal mesh of the article is
live. It must not be touched.
Do not leave the article unsupervised during operation.
Before the article can be used, the battery must be charged
up for approx. 6 to 8 hours.
1. Unpack the items supplied and remove all possible protective
fi lms (e.g. from the solar panel) and stickers. Check all parts for
possible transport damage. If you fi nd any transport damage,
contact the customer service department immediately.
2. Use the suction pads (6) to place the article on a window where
the solar panel (6) is exposed to direct sunlight for as long as
possible.
3. Switch on the article by pressing the On / Off switch (7).
The battery can now charge up in daylight. When darkness sets
in, the article automatically switches on. The blue lamp (2) goes
on and the metal mesh (1) becomes live. When it gets light,
the lamp (2) and metal mesh (1) switch off and the battery is
charged up via the solar panel.
4. To switch off the article, press the On / Off switch (7) again.
Additionally you can switch on the LED-lamp (4) by pressing
the On- / Off-switch for the LED-lamp (9) e. g. as a night light.

Cleaning and Storage
ATTENTION
Ensure that the article cannot become wet or fall into water.
Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to
clean the article! They could damage the surface.
The insects must regularly be removed from the article. We
recommend cleaning the article at least once a week, better
daily.
1. Make sure that the article is switched off (see the "Use"
section)!
2. Remove the article from the window.
3. Take off the front cover (3), by pressing against the two locking
lugs.
4. Clean the metal mesh (1) with a small, soft brush. Make sure
that all dead insects have been removed.
5. Make sure that the solar panel (6) is always clean so that the
greatest possible absorption of light is guaranteed. You should
clean it with a damp cloth from time to time.
6. If necessary, dust the article with a soft, dry cloth. More intense
soiling can be wiped off with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
7. Place the front cover (3) back on the article and reattach it to
your window (see the "Use" section).
8. When you are not using the article, keep it out of the reach of
children and animals in a dry place that is protected from direct
sunlight.

Disposal
The packaging material is recyclable. Please dispose of it
in an environmentally friendly manner and take it to a
recycling centre.
Dispose of the article in an environmentally friendly
manner. The article should not be disposed of in the
normal domestic waste. Please dispose of it at a recycling
centre for used electrical and electronic devices. You can
obtain more information from your local authorities.
Non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries should
be removed before the article is disposed of and should
be disposed of separately from the article. To protect
the environment, non-rechargeable and rechargeable
batteries may not be disposed of with normal household
waste, but must be taken to suitable collection points.
Note the relevant statutory regulations governing the
disposal of batteries.
Removing the Battery
Open the battery compartment by undoing the screws on
the back panel and removing the back panel. You can now
carefully remove and dispose of the battery.
