PROCEDURE
Warning :
Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine and set battery master switch(es) to the
OFF position prior to working on the vehicle.
1. Locate the fire detector on the ceiling of the engine compartment.
2. Using pliers, cut the power supply leads.
3. Remove a part of the insulating sleeve and crimp the male contact pins (Prévost #562286) on the leads.
4. Insert the male contact pins in the Deutsch connector (Prévost #562486), placing lead 123B into port #1
and lead 0B into port #2.
5. Fix the male contact pins by inserting the Deutsch connector lock (Prévost #562487).
6. Drill two 1/8" (3.2mm) diameter holes.
7. Using the self-taping screws (Prévost #5001204), install the fire detector (Prévost #065290).
8. Set battery master switch(es) to the "ON" position.
9. You may test the installation by heating the fire detector with a heat gun. An alarm should ring and the
fire indicator warning light should illuminate in the telltale panel.
Note :
Fire detector will return to normal functioning mode after cooling down of the contact fingers.
