The European directive
2012/19/UE on Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE), requires that used
household appliances are not
thrown into the normal munici-
pal waste stream. Used devices
must be collected separately in
order to optimize the recovery
rate and recycling of the mate-
rials they are made of, and
reduce the impact on human
health and the environment. The
crossed out bin symbol is a xed
to all products to remind you of
separate collection obligations.
