OPERATION
The engine load leveler has an adjustable fulcrum system to adjust the load's angle. This will assist in the
engine's removal from the vehicle.
•
Check that all obstacles and obstructions between the vehicle and engine stand are removed.
•
Attach leveler to an overhead shop crane or hoist.
•
Disconnect engine transmission and remove engine mounting bolts.
•
Straighten chains before attaching to the engine. A shackle can be moved to one of three separate
holes to accommodate engines with different mount bolt positions.
o
Unscrew the shackle and remove from the hole.
o
Locate the mount bolt positions on the engine and the nearest shackle hole in the beam.
o
Reattach the shackle to the beam and tighten.
•
Position each L-bracket over the engine mount bolt hole and attach using mounting bolts.
•
Take up slack carefully. Lift a few inches and check the load is secure and balanced. Adjust the fulcrum
to change the angle needed to remove the engine.
•
Turn the crank handle at the end of the threaded shaft to shift the fulcrum to level the load or change
the angle.
•
Lift engine out of the bay.
•
Rebalance the engine to redistribute the weight to all four chains once it is clear of the engine bay.
•
Move the engine slowly to the engine stand. Do not allow the engine to swing.
•
Clear the area below the engine of people, tools and debris before lowering. Lower the engine slowly
and attach to the engine stand. Remove the L-brackets once secured.
