These instructions are intended only to be a general guideline for
installation. Follow local codes, roofing and sealing practices for the best
weather-tight installations.
ATTENTION: Roof Access for authorized personnel only.
CAUTION: LID IS SPRING LOADED. Please open lid with caution.
NOTE: This product is designed to be installed onto flat roofs only.
1. Prepare the hole in the roof deck to match the Roof Hatch's internal dimensions.
2. Set the unit down onto the roof deck.
3. Line up the internal opening of the roof hatch with the hole prepared in the
roof's surface.
4. Screw or nail directly into the roof through the predrilled mounting holes in
the roof hatch's flange.
5. Spread some modified bitumen adhesive around the hatch on the curb and at
least 3" past the end of the flange on the roof's surface.
6. Attach the cant strip to the adhesive on top of the roof hatch's flange so that it
is flush with the unit's insulated curb wall. The cant strip should be positioned
so it does not extend further than the edge of the flange.
7. Apply the roof flashing materials and sealants over the Roof hatch Flange,
over the cant strip, and up under the curb frame. Refer to image below.
8. Spread modified firmly around all seams and don't leave any seams opened.
9. Optional: apply insulation material or caulk along the inside perimeter of roof
hatch to ensure weather tight seal.
