IMPORTANT NOTICE
Put the speakers on a flat and stable surface. Avoid the
following areas:
- High humidity zones.
- Zones exposed to direct sunlight.
- High heat zones (heater, fire place...)
- Very cold zones.
NOTE: We recommend that you keep the speaker's boxes.
This can be useful in case you need to move your speakers.
CONNECTING THE SPEAKERS
Ensure each positive terminal on the speaker (coloured red)
is connected to the positive output terminal of the amplifier
and negative (coloured black) to negative. Incorrect
connection can result in poor imaging and loss of bass.
Introduction
Setting the speakers
HIFI SPEAKERS
The Stereo principle requires the listener to be at the
summit of a triangle with the 2 speakers at the base.
To keep a good stereophonic image, keep your speakers
away from the side walls particularly if they are reflecting
(windows, naked walls...).
The balance between frequencies, mostly for bass, depends
on the distance between the speaker and the walls. Thus a
speaker located close to a wall can see its bass level double.
It is thus necessary to carefully adjust the distance between
the speaker and the walls to obtain the best balance in bass
sound. Avoid having the same distance between 2 walls and
ceiling. This would create a problem of resonance in the
room.
HOME THEATER SYSTEM – SURROUND SPEAKERS
Surround speakers can be used with a Home Theater
system. They will help create a more realistic sound that
will envelop the listener into sound.
Any kind of speaker can be used as surround speaker. But it
is often easier to use bookshelves speakers, smaller in size
and easier to integrate in a listening room.
The speakers diffuse sound on a ± 45° cone. They guarantee
a very high sound quality but you will have to select their
location carefully. It is important to note that the best posi-
tioning for surround speakers may vary widely depending
on the listening room configuration.
Ideally, surround speakers should be placed behind the
audience at a distance of more than 1m if possible. If not,
do not place the speakers too far apart.
It is also possible to place the speakers on the side walls to
the left and right of your listening position.
Surround speakers should be placed high enough so that
the drivers do not fire directly at your ears when you're
sitting down (they could over power your front speakers).
You may have to experiment a little before choosing the
best position. Once done, you will feel right into the action.
NOTE: For the best possible listening experience, the
settings (volume, balance, delay...) and controls of your
speakers must be done from your audio/video amplifier.
