• To avoid the possibility of electrical shock, turn off power
supply before installation or servicing.
• Track not intended to be connected with power cord or to
more than one branch circuit unless it is constructed so
that it can be used with more than one circuit. Check with a
qualifi ed electrician.
• Please read all of these installation instructions before
installing any part of the track system.
• Save these instructions and refer to them for any additions or
changes to the track confi guration.
• Use only fi xtures and fi ttings that are compatible with
A-line's 2-circuit track and connectors.
• The two circuit track system has a maximum capacity of 40
amps (20 amps per circuit) or 4800 total watts (2400 watts
per circuit) when permanently wired to an outlet box.
• Do not attempt to energize anything other than track lighting
fi xtures on the track. To reduce the risk of fi re and electric
shock, do not attempt to connect power tools, extension
cords, appliances, and the like to the track.
• Track light assembly must be installed a minimum distance
of 6" from any combustible surface or material, such as wall
coverings or curtains.
• Track is not to be installed in wet or damp locations.
• Track system must be installed a minimum of 5 feet above
fl oor.
POLARITY
All components are mechanically polarized to assure proper
connections. To simplify installation, components are also
visually polarized.
• Track face has de-bossed line (groove) indicating polarized
side (live conductors).
• Power feeds and connectors have an arrow which must point
to the track polarity groove.
POWER FEED WIRING
• Use a power feed compatible with power supply wiring
(Romex, BX or Conduit) and mounting material (drywall,
concrete, T-bars). Refer to "Power Feeds" section for
thorough explanation of application.
• Connect the ground wire to the green screw located on the
back plate.
• Connect Live or Hot wire (black) to the screw terminal
marked P1.
• Connect the other live or Hot wire (black or red or blue) to the
screw terminal marked P2.
• Connect the neutral wire (white) to the screw terminal
marked N.
• Track is rated at 120V, 60 Hz, 20 amps max. per circuit,
single-phase, 3-wire, grounded neutral.

TRACK SECTION INSTALLATION
1. Make sure end cap at opposite end of track is secured in
place. Slide power feed into end of track, by aligning polarity
arrow on the power feed with the polarity groove on the track
section; secure with the set screws provided on the power
feed.
2. Using toggle bolts or provided screws, attach track section to
ceiling. Make sure power feed is aligned to the power source.
3. If adding additional track section to existing track, remove
end cap from existing track. Slide new connector into open

end of existing track and tap with rubber mallet to secure
properly in place. Slide new track section into new connector
and tap with rubber mallet to secure properly in place. Make
sure there is no gap between the added connectors and track
sections. Secure new track section to ceiling using toggle
bolts or provided screws.
4. If installing on to a T-bar ceiling, use T-bar clips (supplied by
others). Maximum distance between clips is two (2) feet.
5. If track is to be pendant mounted, maximum pendant spacing
is four (4) feet; a minimum of two pendants per track section
is required.
TRACK FIELD CUTTING
1. Remove end cap and pull copper conductors until fl ush with
end of track to be cut.
2. Cut to desired length, allowing 1/8" for end cap fi tting.
3. Push copper conductors back into the track. Copper
conductors should be 5/16" to 3/8" recessed from each end
of the track.
4. Reinstall end cap and tighten screw.
NOTE: Drill additional ¼" mounting holes in cut sections, if
necessary. When a new mounting hole is required in
a piece of track, it must be placed in the center of the
insulator no closer than 2" nor farther than 6" from the
end of the track.
