The European directive 2012/19/UE on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE),
requires that used household appliances are
not thrown into the normal municipal waste
stream. Used devices must be collected
separately in order to optimize the recovery
rate and recycling of the materials they are
made of, and reduce the impact on human
health and the environment. The crossed out
bin symbol is a xed to all products to
remind you of separate collection obliga-
tions.
