Installation & Operation:
1.
Ins tall a 9-volt battery (n ot inc luded) and co nnec t the UA -45 to y our tele -
phone handset as shown. Use only the provided "short cord"
UA-45 to the phone base. (Note: Igno
re the ON /OFF indicator while doing
any switch setting. It is not relevant at this time.) For your safet y, always dis -
connect UA-45 f rom the phone base befo re replacing its batte ry. Use a coin
to pry open the batte ry doo r.

S etting the C ompatibility S witc h: There are 7 pos itions on this switch. Posi-
tions 1 to 6 are for c ompatibility setting us e. Pos ition 7 is a "by-pass" position
and o ffers no amplific ation and should only be used in c ase of emergenc y
when
there is a total power outage.
